I'm back
Last night, after a couple of delays getting into the plane, and then sitting on the runway for 45 minutes, I finally arrived back in Baltimore. I'm glad to be back, although today is going to be extremely busy.
My deep insight for the day is this: every time I fly, I feel a deeper surge of pity for flight attendants. Most of the time their job is nothing more than glorified babysitting. "Sir, please put your seat back." "Sir, please turn off your discman." "Will the gentlemen using his cell phone please turn it off NOW." What must it be like to continually remind grown men to follow the instructions that have been given them multiple times, especially when many of these rules are rather inane?
