Late Night Notes

I just finished studying for class on Thursday and am pretty tired, so here are a few quick notes before I crash

  • I had the last glass of some wine (a Chenin Blanc) that my parents gave us as a gift after they visited the Biltmore Estates. This isn't saying much, but that bottle was quite possibly the best bottle of wine I have ever actually had in my possession.
  • Speaking of the 'rents, we had a little scare when my mom was sent to the hospital on suspicion of cardiac problems. It turned out not to be cardiac problems, but some strange muscular-skeletal problems. She seems to be doing fine, now, but that is definitely something to keep praying about.
  • Tonight I was reading selections of Augustine. Augustine had both brilliant insights and the language to put them in:
And so the two wills fought it out - the old and the new, the one carnal, the other spiritual - and in their struggle tore my soul apart
    - Confessions, Book VIII
At the same time, I'm a little skeptical of his ideas of being as it relates to the causes of good and evil. If I was more intelligent and less tired, maybe I could come up with some decent thoughts (or even questions).
