If I read one more bloody review that says Jackson faithfully & dutifully adapts the books I'm gonna crap my pants. I mean, even from a more objective standpoint, considering what it means to "adapt" a book, the films, other than ganking character & place names, general narrative events, dont adapt crap. Even events they left in from the books are completely re-worked, re-written, bla bla bla. Crap!

But I still enjoyed the films, as like, some cool movie that used alot of names from a great book I read.

Seriously; Theoden was totally emasuculated in the movie. And the Ents were turned into a bunch of sissies. The Ent's marching to battle is one of the most awe-inspiring passages I've ever read, as the very Earth consciously uproots itself to expunge the Evil that contaiminates its soil. In the movie it's just, "Hey! He cut down some trees! Let's get 'em boys!" Much too hasty.

That being said, I did enjoy the movie. I meant to preorder, now I have to pay extra. Blah.
