24
The wife and I finally finished the first season of 24 on DVD. We'd been watching it for at least the last 3 months, mainly using it as our Sunday afternoon relaxation (which has been the only time we can relax lately).
Although my wife was a little upset at the ending, I liked the series. The plot was definitely too twisty at times, sometimes bordering the point of unbelievable. But I liked the real-time story-telling and think it was a good tool for building suspense. The strength of the series, though, is in the David Palmer and Jack Bauer characters, both of which are played very well and come off as men that'd you be quite happy to have as president and general butt-kicking CTU agent (respectively).
More than that, I think watching TV shows on DVD is the way to go. Not only can you watch it at your own leisure, rewind stuff you missed, pause it anytime you need a bathroom break, but it saves all sorts of time. 24, for example, would be, obviously, 24 hours long if watched on TV. However, 18-20 minutes of every hour is advertising. So, if you watch it on DVD, the total time spent is only 18 hours or so, meaning you saved 6 hours of your life.
