A little sore
Yesterday I took the day off and played paintball with my brothers and a group of their friends and acquaintances. That was the first time I had played in around 4 yrs.
The experience was a lot of fun. I've missed playing paintball; it's good exercise, plus a great opportunity to get outdoors. And, surprisingly, while I am quite sore, I do not ache nearly as much as I thought I would.
What was interesting to watch during all of the preparation for the games was the male preoccupation with statistics. All of the guys there had their own guns, and many of them had spent several hundred dollars modifying and upgrading them. Thus the primary subjects of conversation were what modifications had been made, what the velocity of the guns was tuned at, how frequent paintballs would break in the guns, and so on. People were introduced as "This is so-and-so. He has a flatliner," Or, after a game was played, "I can't believe you got me with only a stock barrel in your gun!"
I am not sure what that all "means." But it was fun to watch.
