Random Movie Notes

Work, school, car repairs, etc. are devouring my time right now, so here are some random movie links.

  • HPANA has all sorts of goodies, including links to a new downloadable trailer. Personally, I think Emma Thompson looks like she'll be a great Prof. Trelawney. At least from that little glimpse, she seems to be doing the spacey thing quite well.
  • I hadn't seen any news of this before, but IMDb.com lists X-Men 3 as "announced".
  • This move doesn't look particularly appealing. The score at the end of the trailer sounds amazingly like the score to Pleasantville, though. Quite odd. Maybe it's just the Joan Allen association.
  • The trailer to I, Robot makes me want to read the book, but that's it.
  • This Apple.com trailers feed is quite possibly my favorite RSS feed.

First off, Nicholas Sparks, and any and all movies derived from his works, are the minions of Satan.

I've only read the first of the I, Robot books, but this one looks completely ripped-off from Asimov's stories. The stories were basically logic puzzles (here's your three rules of robotics; something happened that seems to contradict the three rules; figure out how what happened is really logically a result of the three rules). In the books, robots were not allowed on earth.

I got a false positive for a new Spiderman trailer on the Apple feed - did you see that as well?

I got a false positive on the new spiderman trailer as well. Oh, well. As great as the above feed is, apple needs to get its act together and do its own.
