What brings us together today
This week, Tuesday to be exact, Amy and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. It's weird to look back and think that we've been married two years. On the one hand, two years isn't much time at all, especially compared to people (who I have an increasing amount of admiration for) who've been married 30, 40, 50+ years and raised children and grandchildren together. On the other hand, two years of marriage seems to be able to teach more about love, sacrifice, selflessness, patience and all that other good stuff than however many years of singleness. Not that I needed to learn any of that.
One fascinating aspect, which I think is harder to explain, is how much Amy has become part of my identity in the last two years. That 'one flesh' mystery becomes true after a while. It all ends up strangely mystical and glorious, yet simultaneously earthy and mundane. Very odd, but very good.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure we've got this marriage thing down. In fact, I think we're going to start our own marriage seminars shortly. Listen to our advice and you'll never have any problems at all. Just three easy Bible-based steps.
There's also this bridge I'd like to sell you ...
