Another Blogging Client
In the past, I've recommended ecto to MT users of the Mac persuasion. I didn't realize until the other day that there is now a Windows version available. So I've been running through the Windows version to see how it stacks up.
So far, I like it. The other two clients I use on a regular basis are w.bloggar (for the multiple blog support) and SharpMT (for the MT features). Personally, I think ecto has a better interface than both of them. Compared to w.bloggar, ecto is better at supporting MT-specific features, such as extended entries and post configuration (although the upcoming version of w.bloggar is supposed to support MT options). Compared to SharpMT, ecto supports multiple blogs, whereas SharpMT does not.
On the other hand, advantages of SharpMT and w.bloggar are spell-check and keyboard shortcuts for the HTML codes. And eventually you do have to pay for ecto, whereas SharpMT and w.bloggar are donation-ware.
I'd recommend trying out ecto. If a future version supported spell-check, I would probably pay for it and replace my current setup.
August 5, 2004 09:37 AMNice tools. I looked at them. I've used w.Bloggar before when I swelt in the world of MoveableType. Since moving to Textpattern, there are no such tools. At least I have more control of presentation.
