Mandatory Post-Election Post

  • Bush won. Yes, I am happy about that - and happy that the whole process didn't take as long as I thought it might. I believe that its time to move on, though. After all, Prisoner of Azkaban comes out on DVD in only a couple of weeks, and ROTK (Extended Edition) just a little while after that.

  • Looking at the MD election results, I see that I voted in the minority on every single item except for the judges (for which there were no alternatives). I feel so counter-cultural. Or something.

  • Lastly, the most entertaining post-election commentator I've read so far has been Sidney Blumenthal. I personally didn't know that "moral values" was really Conservative Ignorant Christian Evangelical Misogynist Homophobe Racist White Male Republican code language for "social and sexual panic over the rights of women and gender roles" and "imposing manly authority against 'girly men', girls and lurking terrorists." Now I do.
