Saturday Samuel #2

On a random note - one of the amusing things about being a new parent is all the new things that all of a sudden become Very Exciting. "Look at him," a conversation might go, "he just rolled completely over! Isn't that amazing!" Tasks and activities that one considered not even worth thinking about a few months ago - holding one's head up, grasping a small object while something using one's thumb and index finger, successfully consuming 25% of the offered rice cereal, etc. - suddenly become the greatest news of the day.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Nathan. That's a fine looking boy you have there. Did I mention that our son is named Samuel too?

You know, I remember when our Sam was born and during the first months asking my wife, "When is he going to do something? He's just lying there like a sack o' taters." Now I ask Sam, who is 18 months old, "When are you going to take a break? Daddy could sure use one right now."

But as you say, there's nothing wrong with that! I completely on cloud nine.
