Slightly Surprised
The wonderful people from UPS delivered this today:

What was pleasantly surprising was that I got it (mostly) free at everyfreegift.com, when I originally only gave it a 50/50 chance of actually panning out. It did take about 4 months to go through, and AOL will most likely still be calling me to offer their BRAND NEW 9.0 Security Edition (although I asked them very nicely today to stop calling), and my gmail account now gets a steady trickle of spam. But - it is an $800 camera for which I did not have to pay $800. So I consider it all worth it in the end.

so how many offers did you have to do for that one? and which ones did you do?
Pondered by bobw at August 25, 2005 02:53 PMI did 6 offers. I tended to choose the trial offers over the credit card offers when I could as I figured that, though more expensive, they would be less of a hassle to cancel. These are what I did:
1. Blockbuster.com
2. BMG Music Service
3. Columbia House DVD - easily the most expensive of all the options. I considered it worth it because I did get a bunch of DVD's out of it
4. AOL MusicNet - the biggest pain by far. Not only is the software more intrusive that most viruses, their marketing department is insanely persistent.
5. GM Card - no cost at all, but I still haven't canceled it.
6. Entertainment Book - I have used it, but probably not enough to justify the cost by itself.
Hope this helps
