Temporality, Eternity, and Wisdom: The Rhetoric of Augustine's Confessions (Studies in Rhetoric) Calvin L. Troup
This and the previous books were part of the research for a paper on the use of rhetoric in Augustine and Chrysostom. All of them were good, Troup's was the most directly useful.
Since I'm not getting to this until later and can't remember exactly when I finished reading them, I'm just listing the 14th as the date for all of the books.
Augustine and the Limits of Politics Jean Bethke Elshtain
Divine Rhetoric: The Sermon on the Mount As Message and As Model in Augustine, Chrysostom, and Luther Jaroslav Pelikan
The Way of the (Modern) World: Or, Why It's Tempting to Live As If God Doesn't Exist Craig M. Gay
An excellent dissection of current secular thought and how that has pervaded current Christian thought. I highly recommend.
